The idea
A streak punishes you the first time life gets in the way. A string doesn't. Every day you add one bead — whatever colour that day honestly was — and the string keeps growing. What you end up with is a picture of your real behaviour, not a number waiting to be broken.
What the beads mean
- Green — You did the thing. Counts towards your percentage.
- Orange — You did some of it. Better than nothing, and honest.
- Red — You missed it. Nothing is ever marked red for you automatically.
- Grey — A planned rest day. Left out of your percentage entirely.
Your green percentage ignores grey days, so taking a planned rest never counts against you.
Making your first string
Tap New string and give it three things:
- A name — short and concrete. "Ride my bike" beats "get fitter".
- Do or avoid — building something up, or leaving something alone.
- How long — 7, 14 or 30 days to begin with. Longer strings are part of Plus.
Your string starts today, with an empty bead for every day ahead of it.
Marking today's bead
Open the string and pick a colour for today. Only today can be set — you can't mark tomorrow in advance, and nothing turns red on its own if you forget. You can change today's bead as many times as you like until midnight.
Tap any bead to add a note: what got in the way, how it felt, what you would do differently. Notes are private to your account.
When a string finishes
On the last day the string completes itself and moves into your History. From there you can look back at the whole string, or start another period of the same habit with a fresh string. Nothing is ever deleted unless you delete it.
History and statistics
History holds every finished and archived string. Open one to see the full string tied off at both ends, along with green, amber, red and grey counts and your green completion percentage.
